Know as The old Stores, the earliest parchment, in our possession, is dated 1744 describing the cottage, outbuildings and barns. Situated in the centre of the village of Tuddenham St Martin, the shop sold the produce of the day and even beer. There was also a wainwrights there, fixing the cartwheels and refreshing the horses.
The attached outbuilding (now used as The Old Stores as it is today) was sold in 1892 to Henry Fairfax Harwood of Tuddenham Hall for £100. This was used as a mission room until at least the 1920s when it fell into disrepair and was rented for storage. In 1963 it was purchased by the
Datchet Evangelical Fellowship as an outreach church and again enthusiastically restored
by volunteers.
As a chapel it was a much loved part of the the community. The fellowship later bought the house as a manse and so the plot became one again. In 2011 it was sold as a result of dwindling attendance. From 2011 to the current date the buildings have been lovingly restored to create a different kind of meeting place.
